Welcome to Crow's Nest Cottage, on Islesboro Island, in Mid-coast Maine. Islesboro Island is an easy 20 minutes by State of Maine ferry off the remarkable Maine coast. Crow's Nest is a small, 100 year old, shingle-sided cape that we renovated in 2005. The cottage decor is simple, classic, charming Maine. Located at the northern, rural end of legendary Islesboro Island, the cottage faces the Meadow Pond, a wildlife refuge. Many quiet beautiful beaches are minutes away by car. The ferry leaves from the village of Lincolnville, minutes north of the lovely harbor town of Camden.
Crow's Nest is A GREAT VALUE FOR A FABULOUS LOCATION. Two bedrooms sleep four comfortably. SMOKE-FREE HOME! NO PETS please.

MAGICAL ISLESBORO ISLAND
Islesboro Island is perhaps the most beautiful of all Maine islands. A 14 mile long gem with secluded beaches and rocky coves, Islesboro’s simple and quiet elegance has made it world famous. Accessible via a 20 minute, gorgeous ferry ride from Lincolnville Beach -- 10 minutes north of Camden, 15 minutes south of Belfast -- the island is a unique community where the sea, natural wonders, and amazing historic homes are the attraction.
This is a quiet place that “time forgot.” Think about 19th century Vermont transported to an island in the ocean! If you love peace and quiet and "low-key" vacation spots, you'll love Islesboro and Crow's Nest cottage. If you are looking for movie theaters, amusement parks, bars, fast food, shopping, and crowds, this is NOT a place for you. Awesome kayaking, beachcombing, walking, running, biking, and birding area! Photographers and artists will be in heaven! Most of all, this is a place for complete relaxation.
OUR MEADOW POND NEIGHBORHOOD
Crows Nest cottage is located “up-island” and looks across to the 10 acre, fresh water, Meadow Pond, shown above. The pond is a wildlife refuge for deer, birds, turtles, beaver, etc., and lies several hundred yards across the road from the cottage. You need a car on the island to get to the 2 small grocery stores, to the 2 restaurants and ice cream parlor, for speedy trips to local beaches and public playground, and to get to the ferry.
A PLACE WITH 100's OF SECLUDED AND HIDDEN COVES AND BEACHES
If you love the splendor of the Atlantic Ocean and Maine coast without droves of tourists, Islesboro is your place. Crow's Nest is not on the beach, but there are dozens of secluded and incredible coves and beaches -- both sandy and rocky -- within a 5 to 15 minute drive from the cottage. Or pack a backpack and bike (or walk!!) to them....Explore the coves on foot and or in a kayak. Bring picnic lunches and suppers and play Robinson Crusoe on your "private" island.
A HEAVEN FOR ARTISTS and PHOTOGRAPHERS
Whether you're a sailor or just love to watch the water and sunsets, Islesboro is a rare visual treat for artists and photographers alike. A day doesn't go by, no matter what the weather, that something doesn't take your breath away.
